PPT Eternal Night

PPT Eternal Night
The PPT Eternal Night is a Cruiser class ship fullfilling Carrier, Battleship, and Interceptor roles. It carries a large number of space-craft and marines (Carrier), features several powerful super-weapons, even though it lacks in turrets (Battleship), and is an extremely fast and manuverable ship for it's size (Interceptor).
It's most distictive features are two insanely powerful particle cannons, similar to those found on a Spectre. Indeed, much reverse engineering was done on the cannons of wrecked Spectres in the development of these cannons, made better through Atnlay technology. (A downsized version of this weapon is found on the PPT Burvkar series ships).
Second in it's distinctive features are it's two 4-Point entrod drives, which allow for extra-galactic travel. The entrod drives (commonly called "point" drives) are usually more powerful in a four-point system rather than a two-point system, which is more common on ships. But other factors such as the size of the drive and available power to put into it affect the ship as well. Very little power is not used when these drives are functioning, usually just the basics such as life support and sensors. But this drive makes cross galactic travel much much quicker, but is impracticle for short hops due to it's relatively long warm-up period and initially slow acceleration. For short hops conventional warp flight is used, or Worm technology for medium ones, especially where speed is of the essence.
The Eternal Night is mainly equipped with forward firing super-weapons, including four massive railguns firing capable of firing slugs 25 shocz (5.5 meters) in diameter, two Space Disortion Cannons, four four Alpha blast cannons, four Tacrp type beam cannons, and six XM missiles. Other weapons include ten TM missile tubes (eight missiles each, usually firing RM Anti-Ship missiles), twenty-four Beam turrets, four Bolt turrets, and numberous torpedo tubes and anti-fighter guns distributed throughout the ship.
For defenses, the PPT is lightly equipped on shields, having a mere four Type I shield generators, where as most ships this size have atleast a Type II shield generator and some Type I generators. It does have 60 shocz thick armor (just over four feet), Each generator is capable of making three layers of energy and magnetic shielding, and one absorption layer. Each generator has a general area designated to generate shields for, though the shield energy overlaps into other generator's zones. If one goes down, the others will compensate for its area, but their shields will be stretched thinner, with less energy of shielding in one area.

Wow, that is an excellent ship, Ant! The detail, awesome unorthodox design, split construction, etc. Color scheme works great, too. A five star job!

A very interesting ship. It vaguely reminds me of Scare's Liberty class (though way bigger), combined with the lower half of a squid's body for the two center pieces.
I very much like the bulkiness of the vessel, though I'm a little concerned about the support structures holding the four "pod" constructs on either side. You might want to thicken those up, but other that that, it looks really good!
