Remotely Operated Automatic Rifle (ROAR) System
Tue Jul 29, 2014 12:40 pm
Seeing a need to protect their troops better from enemy fire, developers in the Marines decided that they needed to find a new way to bring heavier crew-served weapons to the battlefield.
As such, they created a system that does the job of a full crew (save for reloading) in a small(-ish) remote weapons system. Capable of being mounted on a multitude of vehicles and each of the Marines' crew-served weapons, the ROAR System fills the criteria perfectly.
It also makes for an amusing pun.

Nice! So it's basically a turret, but smaller and lighter?

Sort of, but it's really just my version of the CROWS.

What "awesome APC/tank design"? The Stalwart AAV? Technically Arik designed that* for the old Star Wars Lego RP forums, and I'm not sure what the agreement was about taking the designs from the LMBs and using them on the PCG forum.
I mean either way I figure that eventually I'll just post all of them in some kind of huge info-dump but for now I'm posting the stuff that I've been making and think would fit the PCG/MSI Marines.
*This is to say that Arik designed the model, but he and I discussed the actual design specifications together at length. We tend to do that rather often, and in fact on the LMBs that with most of the fanon Arik and/or I used, the other would know enough about it to explain it sufficiently. We pretty much have a "mi casa es tu casa" agreement on just about everything. That being said if I do post something that seems more complicated than I've previously been known to accomplish then Arik probably built it.

As I said to PXR I'll probably just make some huge info-dump with all the designs I have so far if the fact that they weren't tailor-made for here is okay.

It's the Stalwart AAV, able to carry up to 30 troops (just figs, no weapons) and move them about the battlefield. Basically the ground side version of the LAAT/i gunship.

Like I said, awesome! The weapon is quite cool as well. Great little detailed design.
