AHE-14 Thunderbear Close Support Transport Craft

on Wed Jan 14, 2015 9:34 pm
This is the revised and upgraded version of the AHE-12 transport, used by the Grand Army to ferry troops and light supplies both between space and planet and in-theater. Upgrades include a revamped chassis, thinner wings, landing struts, and an expanded arsenal. New missile hardpoints allow the AHE-12 to be used to greater effect in assaults or in defense against superiority fighters, depending on the missiles armed. One additional minigun mount in the rear allows for expanded close-support coverage, and all mountable turrets are now automated MG-10 units, allowing for reduced exposure of personnel to enemy fire. As with most Army vehicles, the Thunderbear is connected to the Theater Information Network, and is equipped with all associated sensors and communications units.

1x Nose-mounted chaingun
4x Nose-mounted missile hardpoints
8x Wing-mounted missile hardpoints
3x MG-10 remote medium machine gun hardpoints

VERY nice!!! I LOVE it! Well done! my only suggestion is to let the pilot see down, to where he is landing. (Sensors CAN fail after all.) Other than that, great job.

I like the general design, but I'm not really sure I like it over all. It just has a basic look to it, like you didn't put as much effort into the main fusalage, and weren't as creative with it. I like the engines, small windscreen, and machineguns on the side, but the fuselage is kinda ehhh in my opinion. Contrary to what Dino said, that windscreen is plenty for him to see enough to put himself down. The ground is there and he'll hit it, and if the ground isn't, he would have seen that on the way down.

But maybe a small viewport for the way down, another thin slit on the bottom half of the front, would let him see more when he's still flying level a ways above the battlefield.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
