If only I could simply turn off real-life like a computer and focus on the more important things, like this. But alas, it works the other way. Razz

Or if we could work on this while we sleep, like Unimatrix 0 (a dream world made up of a select few Borg. A place where they retain their individuality and can enjoy life.) But oh well...

GM POST

OOC: So while I catch back up on everything I have a couple of side things we can all do to get the ball rolling again.

Outpost 56D, a small space station that floated above the asteroid ring of a gas giant, was nothing much but a small mining outpost that relied mostly on DeepSpace 57. While it was oblivious to the destruction that come so swiftly upon it's mother station, it was not to small to be out of the danger...

*Two CRS frigates drop out of hyperspace/warp/whatever and begin maneuvering towards the station, which immediately sends a call for help/*

OOC: The station is located "behind" Deep Space 57 relative to the massive battle that's happening.

OOC And now that I'm here, I want to join! Razz

Hmmm.... if I recall, we agreed that SoL occurs pre-Cor Redor... which means the timeline works out on my end. Wow, I'm gonna be busy this break- so much stuff to write and upload. Razz

Re: Cor Redor Chapter 1: Deep Space 57

@Mightyman: If I recall correctly SoL occurs during the general Cor Redor assault, though not necessarily during the same time as Deep Space 57. As for joining, go ahead.

@Johnnyred: I'm working on collecting my thoughts/notes and reviewing what has happened so far so as to pick up where we left off effectively. In the meantime, that little sideplot there is for you and the others to role play as NPCs to get everyone back and active again. It'll be much more made up as I/you/everyone goes and less of following a more specified plot line as everything else. So grab a random technician out of the hanger of Outpost 56D and do something about those frigates! Wink

GM POST

*The two frigates have nearly cleared the asteroid field that they dropped into as the station scrambles to defend itself.*

NOTE: The station has a mere four phaser emitters and a single photon torpedo tube guarding the single hanger entrance. There are no ships docked with the station. The hanger currently has seven shuttles and two mining shuttles (for mining while in flight, as opposed to carrying miners to an asteroid). The shuttles are unarmed but the mining shuttles have heavy mining equipment attached to the outside. Both are lightly armored and shielded, though more so than your typical shuttle, as they do work in a collision heavy environment.

EDIT: I think I might be sufficiently caught up by now. Also, the creation lab seems to have completely disappeared....there goes my Galdron III posting...

GM POST

@Dino: The formation looks like a short, fat hotdog standing on end, about a 1:1:2: ratio of width to length to height in formation size. And it's still moving progressively away from the Argo and sideways from Iron Fleet.

The bugs begin their rampage on the Argo, it's systems falling rapidly to their beserk onslaught and the Marines valorously defending the ship. Johnnyred and OMEGA squad beam aboard the ship in their DELTA hardsuits and immediately begin assisting the survivors in trying to keep the bugs contained, but the sheer number of insects compared to the relatively few number of crewmen onboard makes the task exceedingly difficult and they spread throughout the ship, wrecking it's systems. (Given that most of the systems are automated [according to Johnnyred], there are much fewer crewmen to fight as one might think.)

Meanwhile, with the forward attack element of the Texas rangers rendered as combat ineffective, along with Avatar fleet after it became stuck in the middle of the Cor Redor formation, Iron fleet and the survivors pick up the fight, attacking the Cor Redor's right flank while the Rear element of the Texas Rangers continue their long-distance barrage. The Argo's guns, just recently a part of this barrage, fall silent one after the other as the crew are forced to abandon their posts to join the fight or as systems critical to the Wave Shock cannons are destroyed.

The Cor Redor begin maneuvering thirty-one of their battleships, each with a four frigate escort, out almost straight down. Once well out of weapons fire range they turn towards the Galaxy's, Sovereigns, and Omega-class shield ships that lie between the Argo and Cor Redor Fleet, flying well under them.

"We've received roughly ten percent losses to their roughly fifty percent losses sir." The Cor Redor Commander continued to stand resolute on his bridge, the floor still soft beneath his feet but a giant force-field sealed crack scraggled across his bridge window, a close call with the floating wreckage of one of the Hand class ships.

As Iron Fleet continued to exchange weapons fire, they noticed the upper and lower tips of the formation began to extend over and under Iron Fleet, forming a giant C that faced them, while several large groups of Frigates and Scouts and a small handful of battleships barreled out of the left flank (the side away from Iron Fleet) into it's midst, exchanging weapons fire and aiming for the largest concentrations of ships.

Here I am!

on Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:08 pm
Commander Slokachev rubbed his temples, attempting to process the new information. Ensign Cortez, having finished the report, snapped a shaking salute and hurried out of the PCG Vindex’s* primary conference room. As he left, the gathered officers already began to murmur; the ensign’s tidings had been grave indeed.
Slokachev held up a hand; the room quickly became silent. He slowly got out of his chair, stretching as he did it, before leaning over the head of the table where he had been sitting. He looked over the assembled officers, one by one: Lt. Commander Frank Jawarl, his first officer and right hand; Lt. Commander Hao, his chief strategist and tactical officer; First Lieutenant Gunther, the Vindex’s acting XO; Flight Officer Wilson, commander of the vessel’s sizable strike craft group; and several other men in important positions. “Frank,” he began, “how long until Jupiter can get to the AO?” Frank glanced at his datapad, and then replied “The bulk won’t be able to make it for… eight days, half that if we can procure a warp gate. However, we can get the Thanatos in-system within-” “No good,” interrupted Hao. “The Thanatos is a fleet ship; sending it in alone will only get it wrecked, if not destroyed outright,”
Slokachev gave a slight nod and said “Agreed. Frank, have Ensign Roanhorse contact the fleet; their orders are to form up at Starbase Avalon, and then move out as a group- general orders follow contingency Delta-Niner-4. Am I clear?” The Lieutenant Commander nodded. “Excellent. Gunther, signal the fleet; we’re to move out and help engage the main Cor Redor force at DS-57. Primary attack pattern is Gam-” Slokachev paused as the door opened halfway before jamming, showering nearby officer in sparks; Ensign Cortez squeezed through again, complaining under his breath how engineering was still fixing the damage incurred during the vessel’s participation in the Sons of Liberty campaign.
Once he squeezed through, the ensign gave a crisp salute with the accompanying “Sir!” Slokachev motioned at ease, and the ensign visible relaxed as he said “Sir, just received a new message: OP-56D just reported a raiding party, mostly frigates. It’s a small mining station; not much in the way of defences. Call was priority Alpha-3,” Gunther dismissed the ensign, who promptly took a different door than before., as Hao uploaded OP-56D’s coordinates to that holographic tactical display at the center of the table. Slokachev considered the may for a moment, and then declared “Dispatch the Kulimba to the outpost; otherwise, plan remains unchanged. We’re engaging the main force ASAP, pattern Gamma-Bravo-7. Dismissed.”

[OOC] *Yes, the same ship as the SoL RP. It’s one of my flagships, so I’m working on the assumption that it survives the whole thing. Razz

So, the composition of my force is thus:
-PCG Vindex
-3 Indiana cruisers (including the Kulimba)
-4 Sandstorm torpedo ships
-8 Garand frigates
-2 Starhawk carriers
-1 Tenshin Assault Dreadnought

All of these have been uploaded, except the Vindex. [/OOC]
