HHHAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! I is back, wif vehicles!
These are just the first few of a hopefully-large number of ground vehicles I'll be able to unveil soon. Starships are coming, I promise, but the double-hammerhead shape is tricky to scale properly.
- CV-10X Chassis:
- CV-101 Scout and CV-103 'Light Tank':
- CV-102 Anti-Tank and CV-104 Anti-Aircraft:
- CV-105 Minelayer:

You already know I like these. The retractable system on the CV-102 is really cool as well.

Believe it or not, my favorite would actually probably have to be the minelayer; I like the hedgehog appearance. Still, they all look pretty great; the sides could use some work, but they're otherwise really well built and aesthetically pleasing. The turrets, in particular, stand out as very well done.
Still, though, I don't see why you don't just rename the scout and light tank "Close Support" and "scout car", respectively, since those seem more appropriate IMHO (but maybe that's just me ).
(As a side note, the CV-104 look remarkably like an multirole missile tank I had planned... gonna have to make modifications )

YOU'RE BACK! *Gives manly bear hugs*
Anyway, I love the base. And the ATGM launcher and minelayer are... Well, basically the kind of vehicles that look like they're loaded with a hilariously-overkill armament, even if they're not. I'd love to drive that minelayer into a herd of enemy infantry and let loose straight onto them. And the ATGM vehicle... well, I've never seen anything like it. It's like the trucks with the big missile racks in the back, except it's actually a WWII tank-killer, where the missile rack pops out the back and you, the tank driver who happens to be in its sights, know you're totally screwed.
By the way, would you mind if I messed with the chassis a little? I dunno if I'd change it too much, but I have a thought or two on how to add a little SNOT in assuming the construction is agreeable to it.

These are great! Compact, well built, nicely done, and well-thought-out! My one suggestion would be to leave far less studs showing.
And Arik's plan for the minelayer is pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking....

Really nice! I love the modifiability. As the others said, the ATGM vehicle is awesome; I love how it pops out. My favorite is the minelayer; it just looks epic. It reminds me of the Shielder system and the menacing "hedgehog" look is really well done.
Now if I could get back to my own light tank.

Hey look! MOAR TANKS. I love...well...all of them! I have a suggestion though, you should make the CV-105 have MCLC rounds that can be loaded in the tubes.....cause moar firepower.

Yeah, I like the minelayer too, it just looks like a menace.
That's...probably not a bad idea in terms of renaming things. I'll give that some thought.

Well, the idea is for the driver of the CV-102 not to be seen, just blow the tank away. Buuuuut, a little "peekabo, I keel you!" could be in order, just for fun.
As for messing with the chassis, be my guest - I can pop it to you over Skype.

Yes, yes, I know, for some reason in a group where we build with Lego, studs are the unholiest of sins. We all know my opinion on this matter, so for future reference, if that's your sole or main complaint, please keep it to yourself.
Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't modify sensible doctrine (because I've never done that...*cough*Recon/AA*cough*) to equip these with hand grenades and a plow on the front. But. Never attack one of my positions. Ever. You will lose so many foot soldiers.

Actually, I based the entire CV-10X series on the CVR(T) program in the UK. So, that minelayer system is essentially the Shielder, yes.
And if you need help with a light tank, I've got plenty of designs to look at and use as inspiration/modification material (the Recon itself was a modification/reinvention of Kojan's Defender) if you want. I can also make "medium tanks" like this guy:
- AV(T)-24 Recon:
In fact, having looked at the Jackal, I think a collaboration between us could result in some very impressive designs...and if we bring Arik in on it? "Our armored vehicles will block out the sun!" Mainly because everyone facing them will be curled into a ball crying for Mommy.
Commander Ant wrote:Hey look! MOAR TANKS. I love...well...all of them! I have a suggestion though, you should make the CV-105 have MCLC rounds that can be loaded in the tubes.....cause moar firepower.
Yes, but the idea is to create minefields, not eliminate them. I have a dedicated vehicle for that, but that'll be in another post, once I get the "big brother" version of the CV-10X line set up. Shockingly, these'll be part of the CV-11X line. Read: Minifigs are not anatomically proportionate to human forms, so some vehicles in the CVR(T) series could not be mounted on this chassis so I'm working on a bigger one:

@Jace: Ahh, I see, makes sense.
And that tank looks amazing. I love the turret/spaced armor (I think, it reminds me of a Panzer IV turret a little) and very well done on the slat armor. But also darn, you beat me to it, I was going to do something with slat armor sometime soon.
As for the designation, I would love brownies, but I have absolutely no ideas. Pretty sure V stands for vehicle, but I'm clueless on everything else. Armored, attack, combat, and carrier come to mind but I don't see any of them fitting in a comparison.
For your last point, *laughs manically*.
CV-11 chassis looks great as well!

You get the first round of brownie points. I basically looked at the Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf H and made it into a Lego tank. Two man crew, no actual engine or internals on the turret. Such is Lego.
I'll wait to see if anybody else makes a guess in regards to designations.
But, yeah, I've love to work on something like this with you - your detailing is awesome, and I'm sure that between us we can some up with something realistic and practical all at the same time.
And, while I like where the CV-11X chassis is going...I'm not quite sure it's there yet.

Okay.... I never complained, I only suggested, and that after saying that these are great.
Studs aren't a sin, they are the staple of our hobby, but when trying to build realistic looking things, lots of studs tend to look less realistic to me personally.
Also, these vehicles are NEARLY stud-less, save for a few large patches of studs, that seem a little out of place to me next to the otherwise completely smooth chassis.
Just to be clear, I think that these tanks are VERY GOOD Jace; I really like them. Thanks for sharing them.

*nods in understanding*
Honestly, I left the studs on the side as a sort of "added/angled" armor plating, rather than placing flat panel bricks or the 2x2/3 sloped bricks for the sake of "sleekness" (I know, a bit of an oxymoron since they're studs ) and we all know how I hate using flat panels on angled panels. Ruins the look for me.

That's when I use the 1x1 round tiles, they help some but don't solve the problem. But yes, I feel you when it comes to tiling on angled pieces.
