PCS Healer

on Thu Jun 13, 2013 7:39 pm
ARE WE ALIVE, GENTLEMEN? Razz

I noticed that all of us seem to have slacked off again. Ah well. I suppose the PCG goes through cycles. Wink

Well, anyway, back to the point. Here's my try on a medical ship, the PCS Healer!

Named in honor of Jesus Christ, the Divine Healer of both soul and body, this vessel is large for a medical ship and is very well armored and shielded. It can hold a large number of patients, as well as a sizable medical staff, with a formidable ship's crew as well.

WOW!!!!! AWESOME!!!! Yep.... this is officially epic! I LOVE IT! The rounded design is simply AMAZING!!! GREAT work! As usual with me, I have to critique Razz

The nacelles seem too short for a ship this large and bulky (not bad bulky, just substantial) I suggest at least doubling their length, an addition of 150% might work even better.

Second, I advise slimming the main hull at the rear of the bottom, try for an Excelsior like underside. If not mirrored on the top as well as the bottom, then I suggest making the decrease in thickness a slower, longer slope, cutting the height of the top saucer section down more gradually.

Third, I suggest removing the "turret" pieces and replacing them with 1x1 black tiles for phaser arrays.

Other than those three suggestions.... this is a BEAUTIFUL ship! I L_O_V_E it!!!! It is SOOOO sleek and rounded... not a block.... not a paper plate... NIIIIIIIICE!

It looks SO Federation! It reminds me a LOT of the Intrepid Class, which is a VERY good thing! Very Happy

Very well done. The back of the main hull(not nacelles) appears strange in profile, but thats my only problem with it Smile

VERY impressive! I've never liked ST's ship design style, but this is purely gorgeous. The curves blend in with each other better than I thought possible with Lego bricks.

You managed to make that thick hull effect that, to my experience anyway, is rather unique among ST ships, yet also perfectly integrated the usual forward saucer and warp nacelles.
Even the oddly-curving retro-future-ish connector pylons for the warp nacelles, something that on first glance I didn't think looked good, are clearly implemented with absolute perfection. I think those dark stone grey-colored parts on said warp nacelle connecting pylons give an odd blocky effect and should be recolored to match the rest, but that's really the only nitpick I can come up with.

Splendifferous. Razz

Thank you all for your comments and critiques! Wink. I was trying to make a ship that was unorthodox and yet had an orthodox flare to it.

Thanks again, Dino! And I really do appreciate your constructive criticism. I will never learn anything if my friends don't pull me aside and lay it out straight. Wink

Not much, been busy with work and with physical LEGO. I've been using almost all of my free time to make some new MOCs with my bricks. I've got quite a few to upload now and like 2-3 to go.

That which I've completed -

Adventure Comix Studios (Third Upgrade)
SBG Texas Mk IV
LSS Black Knight Mk III
LSS Bald Eagle Mk II
LSS Nerd Avenger Mk V
Star Justice SPX-7 Sentinel Mk IV
Space Agency/PCG F-101 Daggar Mk II
Space Agency/PCG F-114 Phoenix Mk II
Agents/Starquest XA-42 Phoenix Mk III
Agents/Starquest XG-57 Shuriken Mk II
Agents/Starquest XG-124 Excalibur MK II
Agents/Starquest XG-168 Katana Mk III

Left to Build
Elgo's Base (Second Upgrade)
LSS Hyper Beam/Rustbucket (Name still pending) Mk II
Space Agency Mega Carrier (Micro Scale)

Re: PCS Healer

I will indeed, in fact most of it is intended for some usage in the PCG.

The Black Knight is meant to introduce a new class of light escort craft to the PCG, the Dagger and Phoenix are PCG fighters, and the Agents vehicles are also intended for usage by the PCG, especially the Shuriken and Katana, I fear that the Excaliber and the Phoenix aren't quite up to the task of that though.
