I concur, an idea that is good you have had.

An OOC note on the intensity of my writing.

If my characters/interactions seem "melodramatic" or "over the top" they are MEANT to be very intense for two good reasons:

1: my main characters have been through endless wars for most of their adult lives. The strain, loss, stress, pain, and cost are catching up to them.
2: Romulans are HIGHLY emotional beings. They are essentially anti-Vulcans.

Unlike their Vulcan counterparts, Romulans do not hide their emotions. They tend to revel in them, being kind and even loving one moment, yet violent the next." - Memory Alpha

So... if it feels too over the top to be human, that's because it isn't human at all.

I wish to say, that I am excited to see that you are writing again, Dino, my friend.

And personally, I think that the dramatization is effective. I didn't know that Romulans were so anti-Vulcan, but even without that information I did not necessarily feel the characters were too overdone in their emotions. I mean, if you live through war after war, unless you're a drone, you're likely to have some emotional--and even spiritual--scars for the rest of your life.

I think I ought to drop out of the Sons of Liberty. I haven't been doing a very good job following along nor have I posted much. There are plenty of pacifists in the Federation government - or lack thereof - who would freak out if they learned that a Star Fleet vessel - a Battlecruiser no less - was intruding into Romulan space

I was wondering how many of us are active enough to keep SOL going. I forget where we were...

If there's enough votes to restart it, I'll be more than happy to. However, if we don't have enough active players, I'll probably turn it into a story after I'm done with the Sojourner.

Anyhow, who's up for continuing SOL?

I'll join, if that's possible.

I'd keep going, if you want, if we start up again, though I was mostly just complicating the plot a bunch anyway...

I'll do it, now that you understand my character a bit more. I'll PM you with details this time, so you don't think I'm going for a snobby character when he's just emotionless and hyperintelligent.

I'll try to join; Dino sent me a link to the SoL RP, and I read what it's about overall, but was too lazy to read through hundreds of other posts. I'll consider joining.

I actually read the whole thing; I'll try to summarize:

-The Romulans took over the Federation
-The PCG sent a task force to the Romulan capital to capture their queen (because apparently that'll help  )
-The New Romulan Republic is attempting to help without being openly involved
-The MSI signed a joint defence pact with the Romulans to stop the SoL task force
-The Grelfucan leader-guy (don't remember his name) got recalled to MSI space to answer to the top because he refused to go along with said defence pact
-daragon called a bunch of people immature, bragged about his money, and left.

And that's all I can think of.

I hope we can get it going again. I should try and write up another post.

Sounds like we have enough folks interested to continue! In that case, I'll get reacquainted with where we left off.

Now that's gonna require some doing- which is good. I already have an idea about how I want to fit in here, which will require me to finish a project I've started. I can probably get all the details to you by tomorrow, if all goes well.

@Scare: K. I need to get on my computer so I can conjure a long informative post... I'll try my best to be active though with school starting in a day, I'm not going to promise anything. Hopefully I can PM you later today or tomorrow, no promises though.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM GAME-MODERATOR SCARE!!!!


Gentlemen:
So that we all might have a feeling of clarity as we prepare ourselves to continue the SoL, I want to give the following general information regarding our timeline:

We are now on day 3, the final day before the assault on Rator III. The current plan: distract the bulk of the Imperial Romulan forces by fighting several minor fronts in space, in the atmosphere, and on the ground. While the Romulans are distracted by this multiple-front tactic, an elite force is sent to infiltrate the Capitol to capture the Empress and coerce her to recall the Romulan collaborator now heading up the corrupted UFP. If the Empress cannot be captured, a long, bitter fight--needing more reinforcements than the SoL and their allies currently have--may ensue....

I may want to re-arrange my fleet now that I've updated all my ships.

@J-red: LOL, I suppose you could pretend that they entered the SoL force in already updated condition.
