Raptor Class Destroyer
Sat Jul 27, 2013 10:56 pm
~ Start Entry ~
The Raptor class is one of the most elite of the Space Agency's destroyer type ships, despite seeing usage for over 125 years. (After obvious upgrades of course)
The Raptor, though more lightly armed to most destroyers is perhaps one of the best destroyer type classes in the Agency. It's powerful Light Warp Drives allow it to break speeds and pull moves that all but one other class of Agency starship can't pull off.
One of the most famous ships of the line was the LSS Albatross, and her "pirate" crew. Accused of a crime they didn't commit during the Z'Ron war, it's crew had to go rogue and act as a privateer and mercenary crew fighting the Z'Ron in their own way (and unrestricted by Agency and the rest of the Federation). At the end of the war, the Albatross along with the Excalibur and the Z'Ron flagship, the Vallon, it fought of the X’ord’ah invasion and managed to (barely) save Earth. It was at this point though that Earth's continents were rearranged and Earth became LEGO World.

I'm loving these new (old) ships Jonny! Keep rolling them out, though I need a drool refill soon! My only complaint is the color scheme.....it just......ehh.....I don't know. I realize you want them to look like your actual models, but I may download them and see if I can make a version with a color scheme I enjoy better. But I love the ship itself!

Thanks, AA! Yeah, the color scheme is actually supposed to match the LEGO Classic Space color scheme. The whole Space Agency idea actually stems from the fact that people often refer to "Classic Space" as the Space Agency, so I decided to take that a step further and integrate it into the PCG/ACverse.
Here's a pic for reference. (Incidentally, most of the small craft that these ships are equipped with are some of the Classic Space sets. Try googleing them! )

Yeah, I was actually thinking of Classic Space when I saw them. I reconized the color scheme, but I didn't know it was "classic space". It also reminded me of Space Police....II I think, or maybe I. I don't remember.

Probably both since SPII was released right after SPI. And both coordinated with most of the other themes at the time. Blacktron I and II, M:Tron, Spyrius, Classic Space, Ice Planet: 2002, Futuron, and Unitron. (Robo Force, UFO, Insectoids and Exploriens were semi-seperate, or at least they didn't cross paths with these other themes.)
I proudly consider myself a LEGO Space expert.

You where around longer to expertise yourself on them. I didn't even get into lego themes until around 2007 with Mars Mission. Before then it was just a few SW sets and buckets o bricks.

Are you serious? LOL! I wish I had been around even longer so that I could have gotten more older space themes! I have 1 SPII set, one, Spyrius, one Robo Force, one Insectoid, one Explorian, and one Ice Planet set. I didn't get any Blacktron, Unitron, Futuron, M:Tron, UFO or Classic Space sets.
I do have most of the more modern space sets (With the exception of Alien Attack or whatever was released last year, those were junk)
Don't forget to check out the Raven Class Gunboat I just uploaded by the way!

The Alien Invasion thing? Yeah, the Human sets had a little promise to them, I liked the helicopter and the mobile HQ didn't look half bad, but the aliens where junk. I got one UFO set from a Shell Gas station (tiny little thing), but I lost it. I want some old space themes pretty badly, after I finish my MM collection. I just need the switch fighter and the trike.

MOST Space themes are actually not too overpriced. At least the last time I checked. In fact, I found Blacktron II sets on Bricklink for their original prices not too long ago. (Still with the box and everything!) Only a few sets seem to skyrocket pricewise. (Classic Space and believe it or not, Mars Mission being some of them!)
There's actually a good number of Mars Mission I don't have, mostly larger sets unfortunately. Mars Mission was a great theme, but Galaxy Squad is very good too. (And I loved SPIII!!!)

Yaeh, Galaxy Squad doesn't look half bad, but I'm getting a little tired of all these "specialized, squad-based) things. Mars Mission was a military, not just a handful of guys. Same with Space Police. They didn't have a special batman unique vehicle, they had mass produced tanks. But meh. I got both the special release Mars Mission sets. The MT-101 Giant Drill vehicle thingy (I'm ashamed that I can't remember it's name) and the MT-201 Ultra-Drill Walker. They're both awesome. .

I always wanted the MT-101! And the giant ship thing. I do have the Drill Walker though! Got it for like $30 off and the ETX Mothership for like $25 off.

I have the Hyper-something (that giant ship thingy, which really wasn't that great IMO), the Base, and teh Mothership that I have to share with my three little bros. We got them as group presents for Christmas. I bout the MT-101 and the MT-201 with my own hard-earned money. And I loves them dearly. Heck, I would have bought the fighter that came with the MT-101 by itself if it was a set. It's (honestly) not often that you find a 3-in-1 or a 2-in-1 where one of teh sub-units is still really good.

Yeah! Seriously. The MT-101 was great! (albeit, based off of an M:Tron set.)

That's amazing! I want that on MY shelf! xD
Though you should fix that typo in the beginning. I first read it, and thought, "they were accused of a crime they didn't commit and had to put on makeup? :O"

@supe: how did you get that?!?
@jonneh: yeah, alot of sets are just evolved/recycled sets from other seires. Mars Mission in particular had several that where just modified and recolored versions of Life on Mars.

Yeah! The Eagle Command base and the trike were based off of life on Mars sets, and I'm sure other sets were based on other space sets.
Oh, and I had rogue spelled as rouge.

It's a Raptor class. I plan to refit it along with the Excalibur.
