Star Falcon V Mark 2

on Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:09 pm
Background:
After the Star Falcon L, which was a special edition, I did build a more mainstream modern Star Falcon, which I called the Star Falcon V.  I never posted it tho, I'm pretty sure.  Regardless, I made some improvements to it, and since they only effect part of the ship with the rest remaining pretty much the same, this is going to be the Star Falcon V Mark 2.

LDD File will be live at this link: www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/bf682ceb-6646-403f-9b85-bee2ac0a515b?index=2&categoryid=64929898-c52f-49d8-b106-c0c36314093c

More BIG pictures:

The highlight of the Mark 2 is specifically what I accomplished with the improvements. What I did was I redesigned the ventral hull, creating a bomb bay and rocket mounts, overall improving the versatility of the Star Falcon which makes it more effective at its various roles.

Here are pictures highlighting the new rocket mount, the bomb bay, and the latter's aerodynamic drag-less bomb bay doors. The rockets are exposed.

Well, thoughts? Cool

Very nice indeed! I looks very sleek, and the bomb bay works pretty well! The one issue is that the whole "Mk. V Version 2" thing annoys my OCD; Perhaps "5.5", "Version VI", "Mk. Va" or something like that. IDK, it's bugging me. Razz

That's...that's beautiful... I love it! I really like the addition of the weapons (as I would Razz) but still, this is one amazing fighter. I've always loved the overall design of your fighters, and I must admit, this is probably one of the best out there. Great job! Very Happy

PXR:
The Falcon has also been my flag-fighter since the moment I built the first one.  It really was beautiful. Very Happy

Oh, and that reminds me...

It can still ram starships.  I don't care how OP it is, this fighter is a versatile multipurpose fighter that can do anything, so it needs some individuality, like being able to imbed itself into a slab of material the depth, density, and consistency of a typical Federation starship. Razz

Perhaps... but neutronium is basically an invincible armor, right? scratch

This is a GREAT fighter! Love the bomb-deployment arrangement you designed. This thing looks like it could fly right out of Star Wars. Wink

(I know, I know, it would be more cricket to say "Star Trek" but I don't know of any official ST starfighters. Razz )

Great job!

The only official ST fighter is the Peregrine; I believe the Cardassians also had one.

on Thu Sep 24, 2015 2:15 am

Gentlemen and gentlewomen,

I have improved on the V Mark 2 and I now deliver the V Mark 3, a Generation 6 Star Falcon.  The Mark 3 is shorter and more streamlined than the Mark 2.  The underside has been modified to accommodate a new rocket system and better SNOT, and there are less studs showing on all surfaces.

An LDD file can be downloaded from this page.

Specs:

-Armament-
- 2x MP1500 Medium Phaser Cannons
- 2x MP1100 +Light Phaser Cannons
- 4x Small Munitions Slots (Wide, Replicating)
- 4x Small Munitions Slots (Narrow)
- 1x Universal Torpedo Launcher (Fore)

-Defenses-
- Deflector Shielding
- Ablative Armor Plating

-Power Systems-
- 2x Dilithium Processing Cores
- Sublight Impulse Engines
- Auxiliary Chemical Burn Thrusters

-Stats-
Speed: 4/5 Stars
Agility: 4/5 Stars
Durability: 5/5 Stars

The Star Falcon continues to provide strong, versatile platform capable of performing many tasks more than adequately.

Current Operators:
- Star Force
- Star Lancers

Due in part to the now standard equipment of replicating munitions, V Mark 3's sell at a price of 62,000 credits, to permitted buyers, plus sales tax.
