Star Falcon V Mark 2
Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:09 pm
Background:
After the Star Falcon L, which was a special edition, I did build a more mainstream modern Star Falcon, which I called the Star Falcon V. I never posted it tho, I'm pretty sure. Regardless, I made some improvements to it, and since they only effect part of the ship with the rest remaining pretty much the same, this is going to be the Star Falcon V Mark 2.
LDD File will be live at this link: www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/bf682ceb-6646-403f-9b85-bee2ac0a515b?index=2&categoryid=64929898-c52f-49d8-b106-c0c36314093c
The highlight of the Mark 2 is specifically what I accomplished with the improvements. What I did was I redesigned the ventral hull, creating a bomb bay and rocket mounts, overall improving the versatility of the Star Falcon which makes it more effective at its various roles.
Here are pictures highlighting the new rocket mount, the bomb bay, and the latter's aerodynamic drag-less bomb bay doors. The rockets are exposed.
Well, thoughts?

Very nice indeed! I looks very sleek, and the bomb bay works pretty well! The one issue is that the whole "Mk. V Version 2" thing annoys my OCD; Perhaps "5.5", "Version VI", "Mk. Va" or something like that. IDK, it's bugging me.

Star Falcon Vb maybe? Or 5b... that's probably better. Sorry about that.

Yeah, that'd be great. It's not a big deal, it just bugged me.

That's...that's beautiful... I love it! I really like the addition of the weapons (as I would ) but still, this is one amazing fighter. I've always loved the overall design of your fighters, and I must admit, this is probably one of the best out there. Great job!

PXR:
The Falcon has also been my flag-fighter since the moment I built the first one. It really was beautiful.
Oh, and that reminds me...
It can still ram starships. I don't care how OP it is, this fighter is a versatile multipurpose fighter that can do anything, so it needs some individuality, like being able to imbed itself into a slab of material the depth, density, and consistency of a typical Federation starship.

Perhaps... but neutronium is basically an invincible armor, right?

This is a GREAT fighter! Love the bomb-deployment arrangement you designed. This thing looks like it could fly right out of Star Wars.
(I know, I know, it would be more cricket to say "Star Trek" but I don't know of any official ST starfighters. )
Great job!

The only official ST fighter is the Peregrine; I believe the Cardassians also had one.
