Mnemosine Class (UFP)

I'm not even sure if this is a real trek ship, but I like it, so I built it.

After the famous battle of Narendra III, research of the Galaxy Class was rushed ahead, with Star Fleet putting out a short lived production run of heavy cruisers based on the prototype Galaxy.

The Mnemosine is larger than the Ambassador and the Excelsior classes with stronger shields and a faster warp speed than both, but sublight speed is around the same as the former, as the Mnemosine doesn't come with any more impulse thrusters than the Ambassador.

Compared to the Galaxy Class, the Mnemosine isn't as strong structurally and shield wise, but it has pretty much the same phaser recharge rate and torpedo firing rate as the larger, more modern Galaxy.

The Mnemosine is armed with the typical photon torpedo / phaser strip defenses array of 24th Century Star Fleet vessels.

Maximum Warp speed is Warp 9.6, which can be maintained for 10 minutes before automatic shutdown.

Shielding is typical.  The hull is somewhat armored around the bridge and the engineering hull.

It's really cool.... I like it! I really like the idea (and have been thinking about for some time... but haven't actually DONE anything with it ) of doing "in between the Enterprises" ships. Cruisers that weren't new/advanced enough to replace the Enterprise, but were still a step forward.... this intrigues and inspires me...
