What a classic! The Miranda is just such a cool ship.... not that powerful, not that amazing, but she's a neat design. Great work on her!

Got to remember though, one of these Mirandas was able to make Captain Kirk's top of the line Constitution class eat plenty of lead- errr, phaser fire, and still survive until its shields went down. That tells us that either these ships were overpowered back then, or the Enterprise is underpowered, or that the power of drama is strong in Star Trek.

I think it's probably that both ships were of the same time period and were able to take and give a lot of fire to each other as they were have similar technical characteristics. But... even with refits.... an old frame can only do so much 100+ years down the road.
