Celerior-class Fast Frigate

Introducing the Celerior-class Fast Frigate!

The Celerior-class was the end result of a Federation shipbuilding project in the 2240s. Code-named Project Excelsior, their mission was to apply theoretical research into warp drives utilizing more than two nacelles. The team decided to try a three-nacelle design, and after many simulations and small-scale automated field tests, a configuration in which two small nacelles served to stabilize one larger nacelle was finalized. A prototype was built, borrowing much of her hull form from the Antares-class, and named USS Excelsior NX-1729. She performed well, and managed to reach Warp 8.25, making her the fastest Federation starship in service at the time. Although the Project Excelsior team moved on to other, more secret projects after that, other Federation starship engineers tweaked the design for general use, and thus the Celerior-class was born.

Notable vessels of this class included the USS Armstrong NCC-1769, which was destroyed during the Narada's attack on Vulcan, and the USS Excelsior NX-1729, which remained in service stationed at Earth, where she continued to participate in warp drive experiments.

Very nice design, especially with the roll bar! I like the SNOT work combined with the studs on top, and the nacelles look very awesome. I like the addition of the 1x6 (or 6x1 I guess ) plates on the nacelles; it gives it a nice touch. Good job!
