Standard ICS Naval Armaments Database Empty Standard ICS Naval Armaments Database

Mon Nov 24, 2014 9:38 pm
Standard ICS Naval Armaments Database:

These are the most commonly operated weapons in the ICS arsenal. However, this does not represent all weaponry used by the ICS and does not detail any of the numerous missile armaments. Those listed here are simply the most common weapons, and many modern weapons are not listed here due to their lower usage.

Armaments:

TMC: TMCs are weapons emplacements capable of rotating and elevating relatively quickly. While more versatile than the SSC-series weapons, they are more complex, more difficult to manufacture, and generally more vulnerable to enemy attacks.

TMC-1:
Role: AA
Ammunition: AEC
Dual-Linked

The TMC-1 is the standard anti-aircraft weapon of choice for most ICS ships. Because it generally requires less particles for its role, it can fire significantly quicker than most other turrets.

TMC-2:
Role: Standard A-S
Ammunition: AEC
Dual-Linked

The TMC-2 is more powerful than the TMC-1 and is the weapon of choice for basic anti-ship fire. Capable of inflicting damage overtime against both shielding and armor, and with a relatively fast rotation and elevation speed, can act as a secondary AA armament. However, due to its greater particle requirements, it has a slower fire rate than its AA cousins.

TMC-3:
Role: Standard A-S
Ammunition: AEC
Triple-Linked

The TMC-3 is even more powerful than the TMC-2. With triple-linked barrels, the TMC-2 can devastate enemy targets quite quickly, especially when used in tandem with TMC-2’s and SSC-armaments. Due to its triple barrels, it can fire quicker than the TMC-2, but is more difficult to manufacture and comparatively larger.

TMC-4:
Role: Heavy A-S
Ammunition: depleted uranium shells
Independent dual barrels

The TMC-4 fires massive depleted uranium shells at about 80% c, relying more on their KK effects to damage enemy vessels. While only moderately effective against enemy shielding, the TMC-4 can tear apart unshielded enemy ships within several shots. Using the principals of a coilgun, the KK shells are accelerated the entire 128.5 m length of the barrel and hurled out at near relativistic velocities to deadly effect. While extremely powerful, it’s reliance on nanufactories and subatomic assemblers make it difficult to manufacture. In addition, its sheer size means that it cannot be equipped in large amounts throughout a ship.

TMC-7B:
Role: Accelerated Missile Pod
Ammunition: ASM-9
6 individual tubes

The TMC-7B is a mixture between a coilgun and a missile pod. The ASM-9’s are accelerated from the tube via magnetic coils and continue their course towards the target for approximately 95% of the distance. However, upon the final leg of their journey, they bleed off any excess velocity, maneuver towards the target, and engage its own antimatter thrusters to reach the target. This means that the ASM-9 can conserve much of its antimatter as an HE payload upon detonation and launch at respectable velocities towards the target. This makes the TMC-7B extremely effective and versatile. However, it relies on nanufactories and subatomic assemblers, meaning that damage or destruction of these components will completely shut-down the rocket pod. Additionally, it’s size and weak elevation rack make it vulnerable to enemy fire.

TMC-8:
Role: Standard A-S
Ammunition: depleted uranium shells
Independent dual barrels

The TMC-8 was designed to supplement turrets like the TMC-2, 3, and 9 for anti-armor purposes. Like the TMC-4, it can only inflict moderate damage on shields, but the KK effects of the projectiles make them absolutely devastating against armor. Each barrel is essentially a coilgun, accelerating projectiles to about 70% of c, which can cause crippling effects against enemy ships when used en masse. Like all ICS projectile weapons, it is equipped with nanufactories and subatomic assemblers for a constant supply of ammunition.

TMC-9:
Role: Standard A-S
Ammunition: AEC
Independent dual barrels

The TMC-9 was designed to work in tandem with the TMC-8. Where the TMC-8 can quickly tear apart enemy armor, the TMC-9 can fire rapid bursts to deplete enemy shielding. While larger and considerably more powerful than the ICS’s older turret models, it is still easy to mass produce and brutally effective at its role. The repetitive bursts of particles can also cause very great damage against armor in a relatively short periods of time, especially when used en masse.

TMC-10
Role: Heavy A-S
Ammunition: depleted uranium shells
Quadruple-linked

The TMC-10 is one of the most deadly and ruthless ICS turrets currently operated. It’s four 115 m long barrels accelerate KK projectiles at 90% c, which can shred enemy ships apart after only several volleys. Like most KK weapons, it is less damaging against shields, but can make ruthlessly short work of enemy ships, even the largest and most well-armored due to their sheer velocity. Additionally, the TMC-10 emplacements are well armored and its entire turret housing is encased in extremely thick armor plating, meaning that it is very resilient to enemy fire. However, its massive size makes it difficult to mount en masse or to mass produce, meaning it is a very rare ship-mounted weapon, albeit a very common ground emplacement.

SSC: SSC’s are generally mounted exclusively on broadsides. Though much cheaper and usually more well protected than TMC’s, their lack of maneuverability makes them less versatile.

SSC-2
Role: Heavy A-S
Ammunition: AEC
Dual-linked

The SSC-2 is the most common modern ICS armament. It is comparable in firepower to even the TMC-9, albeit with a slower firing rate. However, its AEC bursts are highly effective against both shielding and armor, making it a very common ICN broadside armament.

SSC-5
Role: Accelerated Missile Pod
Ammunition: ASM-11
4 independent tubes

The SSC-5 is a cheaper and more compact variant of the TMC-7B but lacks maneuverability. Like the TMC-7B, it accelerates its missiles like a coilgun initially until the projectiles are close to the target. SSC-5’s are much easier to mass produce than the TMC-7B due to their reduced size and reliability.

Note: I apologize for not really being active lately, just been super busy. I'll try to catch up this weekend but no promises.

Very cool weapon models there! I'm not sure about the coilgun-missiles (all that extra velocity will be impossible to bleed off in time to do any sort of real manuevers), buth the techs seem pretty good other than that. Razz
